Swabhiman Rural Development Society (R), Kalakeri is a registered, nonprofit, and voluntary organization dedicated to empowering rural communities and uplifting the lives of the most vulnerable sections of society in Karnataka. Established in 2020, and operating from its base in Kalakeri village, Talikoti Taluk, Vijayapur District, Swabhiman is built on the foundation of self-reliance, dignity, and inclusive growth.
Our organization was founded with a clear vision—to reach the unreached, empower the powerless, and build a future where every individual, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to live with respect, security, and hope. We don’t see ourselves as just an NGO—we are a people's movement committed to meaningful transformation through grassroots action.
Who We Are
Swabhiman Rural Development Society (R), Kalakeri is a registered nonprofit, voluntary organization working at the grassroots level to uplift and empower rural communities in Karnataka. Established in 2020, our organization was founded with a deep commitment to addressing the challenges faced by marginalized and underrepresented groups, especially women, children, and economically disadvantaged families in rural areas.
We believe that real, sustainable change begins from within the community. That’s why our approach is centered on self-reliance, community engagement, and inclusive participation. Every project we undertake—whether it’s forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs), promoting education, providing healthcare awareness, or supporting livelihood opportunities—is designed to equip people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to shape their own future.
Over the years, Swabhiman has grown into a trusted and respected local development organization, with a team of dedicated volunteers, field workers, and community leaders who bring passion, experience, and compassion to the work we do.
Our presence in Kalakeri village, located in Talikoti Taluk of Vijayapur District, has allowed us to remain closely connected to the people we serve—ensuring that our initiatives are not only well-planned but also people-focused, culturally relevant, and impactful.

Our Team
STRUCTURE OF THE ORGNIZATION

Executive Committee
At the top is the Executive Committee, a governing body responsible for strategic oversight, financial approvals and ensuring that SRDS mission and values guide all activities.
Managing Director
The Managing Director acts as the operational head of the organization, bridging the gap between the executive leadership and ground-level execution. They oversee all programs, partnerships and organizational management.
Assistant Director
The Assistant Director oversees all community-based and field-level activities, coordinating with key teams focused on social impact

Program Coordinator
Plans and tracks programs to ensure they run smoothly and create real impact. Works closely with field teams to make sure activities match community needs.

Community Organizer
Works directly with communities to build trust, form groups, and encourage participation. Helps people come together to take part in programs and improve their lives.
Administrative Officer
The Administrative Officer is responsible for back-end operations, financial integrity and tech infrastructure:

Finance Officer:
Manages accounts, prepares reports and ensures compliance with financial norms. -
IT Officer:
Supports digital tools, data systems and online platforms that aid transparency and outreach. -
Office Assistant:
Maintains records, provides clerical support and ensures administrative efficiency.
